Exploring Medusa's Head

A new loction has recently been added to Planet Calypso; the thought-provoking Medusa's Head, but it was only yesterday that I decided to try and find it for the first time myself.
|
I suspected that it was on a group of islands off the south-western coast of Eudoria, but the in-game map for Calypso shows two such groups of islands that were also recently added, and I simply didn't have a clue as to which one it would be on. I only knew that the first group of islands was nearest to a place called Notus, so I went there first and then used my teleporter-chip to get to the coast. |
After that I produced my hovercraft and started heading for the islands. Upon reaching them, I then visited each island in turn for the first group, which on the map are mid-grey in colour, to see if I could find anything like the building or structure that I had seen earlier on a certain community-site, but nothing was showing after at least twenty minutes or more, so from there I proceded to the second group of islands which are dark-green in colour, which I've ringed on the map.
I checked the first three islets, but again found nothing other than Hiryuu's, so went further west towards the biggest island, and finally; from the cockpit visor of the hovercraft, I could see something promising. A huge, monolithic construction with what looked like a landing-pad structure on the top. I continued even closer just to make certain, and I realised that I had finally found Medusa's Head!
I then spent the next hour or so exploring the entire area and also managed to get some fairly good screen-shots whilst hunting the odd Hiryuu as I needed the loot.
The image above gives a good vista of Medusa's head, and I was able to take this shot by going onto a huge, arched, finger-like rock outcrop that reaches out across the landing-stage for hovercraft; powerboats and so on...
I managed to find the 'Medusa Teleporter'; which really was by sheer chance, as I had no idea there was one, near the back of the main complex, and I also took a shot of the side of the landing-platform.
The following is the user-terminal area or complex, which is on the fifth floor.

I then found a televator at the front of the 5th-floor, which links to other such televators on all lower floors. I could not find any staircase... Below is a screen-shot of the one of the lower floors, which includes a blow-up of one of the available shop-stalls and it's Estate Terminal. There were quite a few Hiryuu of various maturities, and this is a shot that I took of one of them as it was hovering just above the rear perimiter wall. Needless to say that I got it soon after, and some loot as well... |
This is a good close-up view of the huge recessed-entrance to Medusa's Head.
The last screen-shot is an atmospheric, almost surreal view of the 'landing stage' with a partially hidden sunset.
